Description: For this project, we were able to make a specific print that related to us and put it onto paper. We first had to sketch out a minimum of two different objects that could tell others about us, after we were done sketching the artwork we were then able to transfer it onto a piece of styrofoam. once we had transferred it over to the styrofoam and made sure the lines were deep enough we got the printmaking ink and rolled the styrofoam onto 4 pieces of paper and then glued them onto a background sheet. We were instructed to share what images we had chosen and why. I think that this activity would be fun to do at the beginning of the year because it allows you as a teacher to get to know your students better and have the students be able to share about themselves also.
Extension Activity: For this activity, I would attempt to link this to a social studies unit. I would want to find a way for students to create a print that was based on ancient civilization and show their classmates a story using a print. Students would have to find symbols that related to this civilization and create a story or myth with the print!
