Footprint Introduction Project

For our first project, we had to trace our foot, use three different types of media, and share what we had put on the footprint to introduce ourselves to our class. For the pictures that I had chosen, I had a classroom because I want to become a classroom teacher in the 4th through 6th grade age groups. I had put paw prints on because I love animals especially dogs. The lake picture is one that I had taken at my cabin in Minnesota, I like to go there in the summertime! The picture of the three girls is my sisters and me, I am a very family-oriented person and the oldest of three girls. The calendar is showing the month I was born in and the day which is October 27th. The pumpkin is for the fall season which is my favorite season. Finally, basketball is there because I love to play basketball and that is hopefully one of the sports that I will get the opportunity to coach in my future career.

Extension activity: An Activity that could resemble this project is a language arts project. Students in upper elementary school or middle school could do a book report project based off of a famous person. They will be able to choose who they want to create a footprint on. The students then would use the footprint to "walk in that person's shoe", they would use three or more different types of media to show what their desired person's life is like, then they would present this at the end of their unit for the biography of famous people.
